Deputy General Counsel and Vice President of Intellectual Property, Lenovo

Our client, Lenovo, is the world's second largest PC company. A truly global company, Lenovo generates almost half its revenue in China and has three main facilities: in Beijing, Singapore, and North Carolina; it has research centers in China, Japan, and the US.

Lenovo is seeking to hire a Deputy General Counsel and Vice President of Intellectual Property. Reporting directly to Lenovo's General Counsel, the successful candidate will lead Lenovo's IP strategy worldwide. The position can be based virtually anywhere in the U.S. or Hong Kong, Beijing or Shanghai.

This is a high level strategic commercial position within Lenovo. The successful candidate will interact regularly with Lenovo's senior executives and must have the personal gravitas and professional experience to operate effectively with a multi-national executive team.

In addition to first-tier academic and professional credentials, the successful candidate will the following skills and experience:

• 12+ years of law firm and in-house experience;
• Extensive experience negotiating and drafting complex technology transactions, including patent licenses;
• The ability to develop and execute a strategic licensing program; and
• Experience managing other attorneys and IP professionals.

Mandarin fluency is a plus but not required. A willingness to travel internationally is essential.
