Scott M. Dubin, Principal

Scott M. Dubin received his BA from Stanford University in 1985 and his law degree from The University of Chicago Law School in 1988. He practiced law for six years, the first four with Brobeck Phleger & Harrison in San Francisco, and the last two with a small firm in Washington, D.C. Scott has been a legal recruiter since 1995 and formed The Dubin Group LLC in July 1999. Scott has worked on a number of high-level searches for technology companies, including several general counsel searches, and has placed attorneys throughout San Francisco and the Silicon Valley.

Michelle A. Cotton, Managing Director

Michelle A. Cotton received her B.A. from the University of Southern California in 1993 and her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1997. She practiced as a litigation associate with Winters, Krug & Delbon in Burlingame, California, before going into legal search. Michelle is a frequent speaker at law schools and career symposiums. She is a member of the San Francisco Bar Association's Professional Development Committee and has been a panelist for Law.com's online seminars. She has assisted numerous leading law firms with partner and associate searches, and companies in their Bay Area and national searches for legal talent.

Susan Y. Tien, Managing Director

Susan Y. Tien received her B.A. from Harvard College in 1993 and her J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1996. She practiced law for over eight years, the first three with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, and the next five as corporate counsel for Silicon Valley companies, including Exodus Communications and eBay Inc. Susan co-authored the career handbook Vault Guide to Conquering Corporate America (Vault 2003) and is a frequent speaker on career panels. She has assisted many attorneys in both law firm and in-house searches. Susan is conversant in Mandarin Chinese. Susan sits on the board of the Asian Pacific American Association/Silicon Valley and on the Santa Clara County Bar Association Board of Trustees.
