Our client, a public technology company, is seeking a patent attorney to handle all IP issues for one of its business units. Responsibilities will include counseling senior management, dealing with offensive and defensive IP issues, and drafting IP licenses related to the business objectives. The successful candidate should be able to counsel business managers in the area of complex IP, licensing transactions, contract interpretation and dispute resolution. This person will operate independently with respect to his/her activities, including negotiations, and will also act as a project team leader.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years legal experience and be a member of the patent bar with a technical background in Physics, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Patent litigation experience is particularly valued, but patent candidates w/o a litigation background will also be considered.

The candidate will work closely with eBay's business departments to negotiate complex commercial relationships with other companies.
